Control Centre
The control centre ('Leetstell') is situated in a spacious command centre within the Public transport administration in Kirchberg. Established in 2018, it supervises, coordinates, and manages bus operations to ensure a reliable, safe, and efficient service for passengers.
As a fully operational command centre open seven days a week, it monitors all RGTR lines, both within Luxembourg and cross-border. The staff are responsible for incident management, which may involve rerouting to avoid obstacles, coordinating emergency services, organising alternative solutions for passengers, or informing customers of delays or disruptions.
In constant communication with drivers on the road, via radio or written messages on on-board computers, the control centre keeps drivers updated on traffic conditions in real time. The service can communicate and display information directly on digital panels at bus stops or transmit it acoustically to bus passengers, keeping them informed at all times, whether before, during, or after their journey.
The operation of this control centre was gradually refined and formalised during the reorganisation of the RGTR lines from 2019 to 2022. The command centres of other networks (AVL, CFL, Luxtram, TICE) collaborate with the 'Leetstell' to provide comprehensive oversight and control of public transport movements at both national and cross-border levels.
Ultimately, the control centre handles emergencies for the Adapto and Mobibus services during the Call Centre's closing hours.
