Introduction

The Public Transport Administration (ATP), created by the Public Transport Law of 5 February 2021, became operational on 1 March 2021 after the responsibilities of the Department of Mobility and Transport of the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works (MMTP) were merged with those of the Verkéiersverbond (Transport Community), a public body previously under the authority of the MMTP.

The ATP, which is responsible for the organisation of public road transport services and operational planning, manages the Régime Général des Transports Routiers (RGTR) under the supervision of the Department of Mobility and Transport of the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works (MMTP).

With over 200 lines, the RGTR buses serve the country's towns and cities via a dense network of inter-municipal and cross-border connections. They are collective public transport services that meet the needs of users. The RGTR also provides school transport to secondary education establishments with currently 308 lines.

The ATP also includes the services Adapto and Mobibus, responsible for organising special transport for people with reduced mobility. It also operates the call center (tel.: 2465 2465), which acts as a contact point for the public and provides multimodal information, as well as the Leetstell, the command center for the RGTR network.

Finally, the ATP provides users with a route planner in the form of an app and the mobiliteit.lu website.
