Adapto
Adapto transport is a specialised service offering individualised public transport for people with irreversible disabilities or impairments – physical, mental, sensory, or psychological – that significantly limit mobility. Operating as an occasional, on-demand 'kerb-to-kerb' service, it collects passengers directly from the kerbside at their departure location.
Beneficiaries and admission conditions
In general, access to Adapto transport is granted if the individual:
- has a severe, permanent motor disability,
- is blind or severely visually impaired,
- has a cognitive or neurological disability,
- has a serious progressive condition,
- and their condition prevents them from using public transport or driving.
Any person who is ordinarily resident in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and meets the above conditions is eligible to benefit from the Adapto service.
Transport is available for children aged 12 and above.
What Adapto is not
- A service for people with temporarily reduced mobility due to accidents, fractures, or other temporary conditions,
- a benefit for elderly individuals with age-related impairments (unless meeting the specified disability criteria),
- a benefit covering travel assistance already provided by dependency insurance,
- a transport service for sick individuals,
- a taxi ambulance.
Access request form
To use the transport service, a request must be submitted via this form, accompanied by a medical certificate issued within the past three months.

For inquiries, the Adapto service can be reached via email at adapto@atp.etat.lu.
If the applicant meets the eligibility criteria, an Adapto card is issued, displaying the card number, expiry date, and the holder's first name, surname, and date of birth. This personal card is sent by post and must be shown upon the driver's request before entering the vehicle.
If the Adapto card expires and the eligibility criteria are still met, the beneficiary must submit a new application using the Adapto service access form available on Guichet.lu.
